Raised in the Vermont town where a Christian fundamentalist group called The Twelve Tribes is headquartered, I’ve long had a curiosity with cults and fringe spirituality. In the Czech Republic, I studied folk music’s necessity both in building a retrospective cultural mythos and in shaping a revolutionary future.

“You’ve Been Left Behind” aims to synthesize these fascinations by exploring a broad range of folk music, from archival to contemporary, often centering themes of the occult, religion, experimentation, and revolution. I hope you enjoy.
